General information

Access to eduroam is now only possible with an app password.

An app password is a long, randomly generated security code. It provides additional protection because it is only valid for one app at a time and is specific to one device.

This means that the previous setup or configuration is no longer functional.

Step 1: Remove old configuration

First remove the old eduroam configuration (under "Known networks") before you start with the new configuration. Otherwise, there may be complications during setup.

Windows 10 : Right-click on network icon > Network & Internet Settings > WLAN > Manage Known Networks > Remove Saved eduroam Network

Android: Settings > Network & Internet > WLAN > Saved Networks > Remove eduroam

Step 2: Create app password

Log in to the Self-Service with your new password. Click on the eduroam tile.

Create an app password for eduroam. For better association, you can enter a meaningful comment as a description.

Note: This randomly generated password will be displayed only 1x. You can copy this directly to the clipboard.

Step 3: configure geteduroam app

Download the latest eduroam app for your Windows / Android / iOS operating system: https://www.geteduroam.app/

Install the app and follow the installation instructions.

Note:You must be connected to the Internet to install.

In the login window, enter your central login with the realm @tu-freiberg de as the user name (e.g. ab12defg [at] tu-freiberg [dot] de).

For the password, enter or copy the app password you just generated.

The configuration is now complete. As soon as the eduroam network is within range, the connection is established.
